Welcome!
My name is Nialah, and I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and work toward healing and personal growth. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating. For many people, therapy can carry a sense of stigma or taboo, which can make taking that first step feel even harder. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and compassionate space where you feel comfortable being yourself, sharing your story, and working toward the changes you desire.
I hold a master’s degree from National University, and my background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has given me valuable experience working with children, teens, and young adults. I bring this experience into my therapy practice through a client-centered, strengths-based approach that recognizes that every person is unique.
I believe everyone has a story. Sometimes, that story includes difficult or painful chapters that can make it harder to notice or enjoy the “roses” in life. Therapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, make sense of those experiences, and discover ways to move forward while recognizing the strengths you already possess.
My approach is collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I see therapy as something we do together. Through supportive listening, open communication, and ongoing feedback from my clients, I tailor my services to what is most beneficial for you. I incorporate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and child-centered play therapy, depending on your individual needs and goals.
My goal is to provide you with practical tools and strategies that you can carry with you beyond our sessions. Often, you already have many of the strengths and skills you need within you, therapy can help you recognize, strengthen, and use them in new ways.
To ensure ethical, effective, and supportive care, I receive weekly supervision from Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT #127661.
Thank you for considering working with me. I would be honored to walk alongside you and support you on your journey toward greater well-being, healing, and personal growth.
