Sarah Bautista, Trainee

Supervised by Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT #127661

Hi! My name is Sarah Bautista, and I am a Student Therapist at Horizon Family and Community Services. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Spanish from UC Davis. Currently I am working on getting my Master's Degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families work through life’s challenges and move toward growth and healing.

As a first generation Mexican American and daughter of immigrants I find passion in working with first-generation children, adolescents, and adults. I have first-hand experience with the difficulties that immigration may bring and how difficult these processes can be. At the same time, being bilingual allows me to further understand the differences a language barrier may cause.

My approach to therapy includes a collaborative process where we work together to achieve your goals. I focus on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and experiences. I work from a client-centered approach perspective, using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Thank you for considering working with me. I’d be honored to support you on your journey and look forward to hearing from you!
