Noelle Nixon, Trainee

Supervised by Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT #127661

Hello! My name is Noelle Nixon, and I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from California State University, Chico in 2022, and am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Phoenix. As a Student Therapist, I receive weekly clinical supervision from Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT #127661, to ensure I provide ethical, compassionate, and quality care. I come with prior case management experience working with individuals (adults) recently released from prison and/or jail, as well as those with substance use issues.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, family conflict, stress, life transitions, self-esteem, identity exploration, communication challenges, school-related concerns, and substance use.

I take a collaborative approach to meet you where you are and tailor therapy to your individual needs and goals. My work is client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based; I also incorporate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Trauma-Focused interventions.

I believe that therapy is most effective when it feels like a partnership. Together, we’ll identify your goals, build on your strengths, and explore patterns that may be keeping you from living the life you want.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey!
