Johanna Loumber-Altamar, Trainee
Supervised by Susan Harrison, LMFT #93612
Sometimes the hardest part isn't knowing what needs to change—it's figuring out how to move forward when obstacles keep getting in the way. I enjoy helping clients identify those barriers, build on their strengths, and take meaningful steps toward their goals. As a Counseling Psychology Trainee supervised by Susan Harrison, LMFT 93612, I offer a collaborative, down-to-earth approach for children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, grief, and life transitions. My therapeutic practice integrates cognitive-behavioral, attachment-based, and motivational interviewing techniques.
Before entering the counseling field, I supported adults in making lifestyle changes by helping them identify barriers, build healthier habits, and stay accountable to their goals. These experiences continue to inform my compassionate, strengths-based approach to therapy. My work with immigrant and refugee learners further deepened my appreciation for the diverse experiences and cultural backgrounds that shape each person's story.
I am a bilingual English and Spanish speaker dedicated to providing culturally responsive care that honors your unique background and values. For those who desire it, I also offer Christian-based counseling that respectfully integrates spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
