Alexis Barajas, Trainee

Supervised by Ashley Barnes-Brown, LMFT #127661

Hi! My name is Alexis, and I am a student therapist here at Horizon Family and Community Services. Currently I am working on getting my master's degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I know that taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, accepted, and truly heard from the very beginning. I believe that healing starts with a genuine connection, and I strive to meet every client with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment.

I have experience working with foster youth, which has deepened my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the importance of having a safe and supportive relationship. These experiences have strengthened my passion for helping individuals feel empowered as they navigate life's challenges.

I especially enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and older adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. My hope is that our sessions become a place where you can be yourself, explore what's on your mind, and know that you don't have to face life's challenges alone.

I believe that every person has unique strengths, even during difficult seasons, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as we work together toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
